Noticing the Difference Between Fear and Knowing

Blog

I used to think that my inner knowing would feel clear and confident all the time.

What I’m starting to see is that it’s actually much quieter than that.

Recently, I was making a decision that felt important, and I noticed a lot of noise in my head. Thoughts going back and forth, trying to figure out the “right” choice, weighing options, thinking about outcomes.

Using the tools, I stepped back and began to observe what was happening instead of getting caught in it.

What I became aware of was how much of that noise was coming from fear. Fear of making the wrong decision. Fear of how it would look. Fear of what might happen next.

When I stayed present with that awareness, something shifted.

Underneath all of that thinking, there was a much quieter sense of knowing. It wasn’t trying to convince me of anything. It wasn’t urgent. It was just there.

The more I allowed myself to notice the difference between the noise and that quiet sense, the clearer it became.

I didn’t need to force the answer. I didn’t need to rush.

I just needed to listen.

What I’m seeing now is that trusting my inner knowing isn’t about eliminating fear. It’s about recognizing it, not getting lost in it, and allowing something deeper to guide me.

The tools gave me the space to see that clearly.
